Mahesh Kumar Gangishetty

The Gangishetty lab is interested in exploring a wide range of optoelectronic materials and devices for energy conversion applications. We aim to exploit the light matter interaction efficiently at the nanoscale using quantum confined structures (0D, 2D and 3D materials), plasmonic nanomaterials and hybrid (organic-inorganic) systems. We leverage our expertise in variety of techniques including X-ray absorption spectroscopy, time resolved spectroscopy, and electron microscopy to understand the structural, optical, and electronic properties at nanoscale and corelate them as a feedback loop.

Ultimately, we employ these materials, either independently or in combination with their organic cousins, in efficient devices for energy conversion such as light emitting diodes, photovoltaics, and photocatalysis.
