Leading with Curiosity

Featured in MSU’s Our People, senior chemistry major Chandler Woo shares how his journey at Mississippi State transformed his academic path and ignited a deep passion for research. Originally on a pre-pharmacy track, Woo discovered his love for uncovering fundamental scientific principles and shifted his focus to pure chemistry. Through hands-on lab work and leadership in the Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMACS), he found both purpose and community. Now preparing to pursue a Ph.D. at Yale, Woo credits MSU with providing the foundation and support that helped shape his future.
