Mississippi State University chemistry Ph.D. student Chibuike Onyeogulu recently represented MSU on the international stage by earning a spot—one of only 60 worldwide—in the American Chemical Society’s Green and Sustainable Chemistry Summer School, a distinguished and fully funded program held July 27–August 1, 2025, at the University of Vermont in Burlington. Organized by the ACS Green Chemistry Institute, the intensive weeklong event brought together leading graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from the Americas for immersive lectures, hands‑on projects, poster sessions, and opportunities to network with global experts in green chemistry and sustainability. Onyeogulu called the experience transformative, describing it as “stepping into a vivid ecosystem of exhilarating ideals,” blending intensive academic learning with informal exchanges on the 12 principles of green chemistry, systems thinking, and ethical sustainability insights.
