Dr. Robert W. Lamb is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Mississippi State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Mississippi State University and his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Prior to his current role, he completed an ORISE Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Engineer Research and Development Center, where his work focused on applied computational chemistry and environmentally relevant chemical systems. His research background includes computational chemistry, inorganic and environmental chemistry, catalysis, spectroscopy, and data-driven approaches to chemical prediction, with projects involving carbon dioxide reduction, hydrogen evolution, pesticide degradation, PFAS, and toxic industrial chemicals. At MSU, his teaching emphasizes undergraduate chemistry instruction, laboratory development, graduate teaching assistant mentoring, and helping students connect chemical principles with experimental, computational, and real-world applications.
