Dr. Benjamin A. Atterberry is the NMR Manager in the Department of Chemistry at Mississippi State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Iowa State University and a B.S. in Chemistry from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. His expertise includes solution and solid-state NMR spectroscopy, 1D and 2D NMR experiments, pulse sequence development, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, and the application of NMR methods to complex materials and catalytic systems. His research background includes parahydrogen-induced polarization NMR, advanced solid-state NMR methods development, and multinuclear NMR studies of catalysts, frameworks, and surface-modified materials. In his role, he supports the operation, training, and effective use of the department’s NMR instrumentation for research and teaching.
