Dr. Austin Reid has been in the TiO2 pigments business for thirty-three years. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Auburn University. After a postdoctoral period under the direction of F. Albert Cotton at Texas A&M University, he joined DuPont in 1985. He has held numerous positions in R&D and in research and technical services management. His current position is Technical Fellow in Chemours (DuPont spinoff). He was named a Fellow of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) in 2002 and an Honored Service Member in 2004. He has served as the Chair of the Color and Appearance Division of the SPE and as a Vice President on the Executive Committee of the Society. He is also a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Crystallographic Association, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
