Abstract:  Palladium(II) precatalysts with a single supporting ligand are convenient precursors to the LPd0 active species required for efficient cross-coupling reactions.  These precatalysts require an efficient reduction pathway under the catalytic conditions to be effective, however.  This presentation will discuss several new classes of air-stable palladium(II) precatalysts developed in our group and the mechanisms for their activation under typical cross-coupling conditions.
