Sabrina Moore accepts her award with Provost Judy Bonner

Congratulations to Alex Hughes and Sabrina Moore, recent inductees into The Society of Scholars. The Society recognizes students who have achieved academic excellence in their own major while also pursuing a diverse courseload in liberal arts and sciences. Inductees are typically in the top 1% of students at MSU. Sabrina is a Chemistry/Microbiology double major, and Alex is a Biomedical Engineering major who performs biophysics research in Dr. Fitzkee's lab.

Alex, a senior, hopes to enroll in a MD/PhD program next fall. Sabrina is a junior interested in both scientific research and medical school. Both students have been recognized for their abilities in academics and research. Last summer Alex participated in a pediatric oncology internship at St. Jude Children's Research hospital.  Sabrina has participated in the Honors College study abroad program in Oxford, England, as well as performing parasitology research in Peru.
